KM or Hayden? Hi...it's me! 

Just a California girl living in a North Carolina world...or wherever the army sends my husband next. If I'm not writing in one of my made up worlds, you can find me chasing around my two little girls, sippin' a cold beer at the ballpark or playing tabletop games into the wee hours of the morning.

I started this writing journey under the pen name K.M. Rives [funny story, Rives is the street I grew up on.] I loved the idea of creating a world and getting to live in it. Thus, the Culling series was born. It's my first book baby and I couldn't be more proud of myself for doing the damn thing. I learned so much along the way and that's how pen name number two came to be. 

Hayden was born from my love of sports. There is just something about a team and the connections forged through the love of the game that speaks to my soul. Baseball has always had a special place in my heart so it seemed like the logical place to start. 

Now you may be asking, why two pen names? Why not just put it all under one? I could go on and on about my reasoning, but at the end of the day it just felt right to allow my two loves—fantasy and sports—to have their own space. It also helps my brain to be able to separate the two. But here on this website is where world collide and I get to share it all with you! 

So whether you know me as Krista (KM) or Hayden, welcome to my little corner of the world. Don't be shy, say hello, I promise I don't bite...at least not too hard.
